Pillar 04 · Spiritual

Talent, converted into service.

A spiritually fit person forgives without effort, feels what other people are carrying, and turns whatever they are good at into something useful to somebody else. Quantum makes no claim on which faith you practise — only that the need to connect to something larger is not optional equipment.

Self-test

Are you known for your bad temper? Not: do you lose your temper. Are you known for it. Reputation is the honest measure, because it is assembled by everyone except you.

Sit with these

There is no exercise on this page. The other three pillars give you something to do; this one gives you something to answer, and answering it honestly takes longer than sixty seconds.

Q / 01

Can you turn around in the face of adversity?

Not whether you avoid adversity. Whether, standing in it, you can still change direction.
Q / 02

How many punches can you take — not how many can you give?

The reversal is the point. Most measures of strength count output. This one counts what you can absorb without passing it on.
Q / 03

Does your presence bring joy to other people?

You cannot answer this one. Somebody else has to, and they probably will not say it out loud.
Q / 04

Are you known for your bad temper?

Reputation as diagnostic — the one measure of yourself you do not get to write.

Believe in One God. Live simply. Love everybody. Serve creation.

Four instructions, no system, and a life long enough to make the point without argument. Spiritual fitness here is not contemplative — it ends in charity, in forgiveness given faster than it is deserved, and in whatever you are good at being pointed at somebody who needs it.
